Fall Forward

Generally, people associate spring with new beginnings. I like to think that fall is where everything starts fresh. You start school in the fall, new TV shows come on in the fall, and there is just this excitement in the air whenever the temps start to dip a bit.

I don't think spring has anything on fall. I'll take jackets and sweaters over sun dresses and flip flops any day.

Welcome, fall. I can't wait to make the most out of you.

BTW

The no alcohol fast did not last long. Probably two weeks. However, we have significantly cut down on the amount of alcohol we purchase. I just have to have a cold one Fridays after work.

Return of the Jord

Alright, I bet you thought I quit blogging. Turns out, I didn't. I've started and deleted several posts since August 4th. It seems that most of my entries are me talking about not blogging and then making a list of things that have happened. Well, folks, tonight is no different. I just can't seem to get into the groove like I once was. Perhaps that will change. Here's hoping.

So, want to know what's been going on in my life since August 4th? Well, I'll just tell you, in list form, of course.

Most of my time has been spent by participating in wedding activities for my cousin, Jessica. Dress shopping, dress altering, showers, showers, SHOWERS!, and up next a bachelorette party and shoe shopping! Then the wedding. Oct. 24. Mark those calendars. It's going to get wild.

Still have the precious pup. She is still driving me a bit mad. But every day she gets a little bit better. We succumbed to Margot's cuteness/whinyness and she now sleeps with us. Judge if you will, but it works for us. For now.

I had a shitty shitty week a few weeks ago. I won't go into why because if involves someone besides me. But it sucked. And then because said thing sucked my week sucked. And during that sucking week I cried. At a bar. In front of my ex-boyfriend. And his current girlfriend. Cute. I know. Probably one of the most embarrassing moments of my life. I am usually very composed and don't like to cause a fuss or draw attention to myself. But he just happened to ask why I had a bad day, and I just couldn't keep it in for the 2 seconds it would have taken to walk out of the bar. So, he got to hear about my sucky week through the gasps of breath in between ALL THE CRYING! Awkmo to the max.

I was sick for about a month. I am not sure if I was sick because I was down or down because I was sick. At any rate, after 61 shots in my back, and learning that I am, in fact, allergic to most trees, weeds, cats, and pretty much any dust and/or mite found inside your home, I am feeling better. Don't know if it's because I changed my attitude or because of the allergy meds, but life is good. Now, if I could get rid of these dang headaches, we'd be in big time business.

I had the best weekend in a long long list of weekends. One day it was the PERFECT weather outside. I enjoyed it with my pup and some good friends. The next it was a downpour. I stayed in my pjs with Aaron and ate pizza and watched Dexter until 4 in the afternoon. Not to mention I got to see the wonderful JULES! (my old college roommate and yes, her name has to be in all caps with an exclamation point because she's that amazingly fun) for dessert and shopping.

I've fallen in love with Aaron all over again. I know that's tote cheese ball, but it's true. I am just so happy with him. I know I haven't been easy to get along with recently, but he's just had the best attitude and knows I'll get through it. I love him. So, so much.

Oh, and this pretty lady is having a baby. And I can't wait. I've been assigned the task to make a mix cd for her new babe. It's supposed to be music he needs to listen to. Talk about pressure. It's taking me a long time to come up with artists and songs that will fit on one tiny cd.I can't wait to meet you, Merritt.

That's about it. I suppose that was a more detailed list than usual.
